Types of Personal Injuries and Accidents

In the every day world of busy living, different types of accidents and personal injuries are bound to happen.  It’s when we least expect it.  The important thing that we need to understand, is that there are ways to prevent them.  If it does happen and it’s not our fault, there is a process that you can utilize to be compensated for “pain and suffering”, especially if it prevents you from earning a living.  Some types of injuries and accidents can lead to cash settlements that only an experienced lawyer who knows how to mitigate the system can help you get awarded.  It is not a smart decision to go about your normal life if something is inherently wrong as a result of the accident or injury.  It could be a snowball effect where one thing effects another and can lead to years of discomfort and lost wages.

In matters of truth and justice, there is difference between large and small problems, for issues concerning the treatment of people are all the same.  ~ Albert Einstein

  • Injury from a slip and fall- Public places are obligated to make their establishments safe for you. If this is not done, and you fall and hurt yourself as a result, you can recover damages from the place for your injury.
  • Injury from dangerous conditions on site- While slip and fall cases are most common in public spaces, even it occurring in a private home,  can be considered negligent and can give rise to liability under the law.
  • Injury from medical malpractice- Doctors take an oath to provide you with competent care. When they don’t, things can go wrong. Medical malpractice lawsuits exist to allow you to recover monetary damages for mistakes your doctors make.  i.e. something being left inside after your surgery or the wrong surgery being performed.
  • Nursing home negligence – While in the care of others, the facility is accountable to upholding certain living standards.  When that doesn’t happen for every single person living in the facility, and they are not properly taken care of and accidents or injuries occur, then the facility is liable for the “pain and suffering” of the patient.

While these are just a sampling of the different types of personal injuries and accidents that can happen, there are many more. With the competent advice of an experienced lawyer, these kinds of cases can be resolved.  For more information and to schedule a consultation, please contact Chris Anglin at Anglin Law Firm at 919-803-1516.
